About Jennifer Van Amburgh Moody

I'm a native New Englander, now a resident of Summerville, SC, by way of Omaha, Nebraska. I started drawing as a little girl at my mother's feet as she illustrated bridal gowns and curtains for newspaper ads.

On Saturday mornings in high school I studied life drawing from the model with Antonio Dattorro, an amazing teacher who influenced hundreds of students in Rhode Island. He taught me to not draw boring.

At the School of the Worcester Art Museum I majored in Life Drawing and Painting. I've never tired of drawing and painting my fellow humans, and enjoy creating a relationship with them on paper and canvas.

I also love old things, rusty things, disappearing signs and scenes, which remind me we all get old, if we're lucky, and our time here is fleeting.
